Iron Removal

The OxyMetals system is simple and cost effective and requires minimal attention and maintenance. Water is pumped through an Oxygenator Nozzle and, as it passes through, large volumes of air are drawn into the powerful mixing zone inside the nozzle where it is vigorously mixed with the water.

This step directly oxidizes iron and manganese and dissolves high levels of oxygen into the water. The system can be configured such that it also acts as an air stripper. ( See OxyStrip System for more information) as well as a oxidizing metals or H2S.

Because of the intensity of this exposure and mixing, the oxidation is very rapid, unlike using submerged aerators. The inherent mixing can be used to mix in other chemistry as part of a larger treatment system. The system has proven effective in co-precipitating or arsenic and lead with the iron oxidation.
